City Of Lakes Show Ski Tournament Coming Saturday
WARSAW — The Lake City Skiers Water Ski Show Team will host The City of Lakes Show Ski Tournament this Saturday June 18, 2016.
Teams competing in the tournament are Grand City Ski Team and Silver Lake Ski Team both from Michigan, Chippewa Lake Ski Team from Ohio and the Lake City Skiers representing Indiana.
Individuals’ competition will begin at 8:00 am with girls swivel ski, adagio doubles, team jump and freestyle jump competition.
There will be a short break before the team competition begins. The start time varies for team competition depending on the number of individuals competing. Usually around 10:00 am.
Each team will have 20 minutes to set up all equipment including stage props and sound, 1 hour to perform 13 acts and 10 minutes to clear everything out of the show site. The teams are judged on difficulty, execution of acts, flow of the show as well as tow boat driving, safety boat performance, dock/equipment, sound, announcing and showmanship. The setup and tear down are also part of the overall score.
This is a USA Water ski sanctioned event and is free to the public. Concessions will be available at the site. Bleacher seating is available or you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs. Spectators will see a variety of acts including high speed barefooting, freestyle jump, wakeboard, sky ski and 4 tier human pyramids.
