Larry F. Mellott
Larry F. Mellott, 78, Warsaw, passed away at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
On Aug. 3, 1937, he was born in Warsaw to DeWitt C. and Helen L. (Firestone) Mellott. He was united in marriage to Geneal Sponseller Heagy on June 20, 2008, in Warsaw, who survives.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Larry worked as a youth, for the Times Union Newspaper as a paper carrier and later worked for Ramsey News Stand. He then worked for Thornburg Drugs for 27 years. Larry was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, where he sang in the choir. He graduated from Warsaw High School, Class of 1955. He was an organizer for all of the class reunions with help. He was a member of the Model T Club and “Mayberry” Monday Night Garage Club. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid hunter and became the adopted son of the Bill Robinson Family in Kaycee, Wyo., for 18 years.
Larry is survived by his wife: Geneal Mellott, Warsaw; six cousins: Karen Bradt, Warsaw; Susan (Red) Wiggins, Warsaw; John Firestone, Warsaw; Bob (Linda) Firestone, Sebring, Fla.; Ray (Fran) Grau, Walbridge, Ohio; Maurine Reynolds, Toledo, Ohio; two stepchildren: Nanette (Lester) Pierce, Warsaw; Hal (Geri) Heagy, Warsaw; and several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved dog: Tucker. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a stepdaughter: Jalaine Brumfield.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, June 18, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Dave Hummel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 10am–noon Saturday, June 18, in the funeral chapel.
