Wawasee Lakeside Chapel To Hold Bake Sale
SYRACUSE — Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, 10419 N. Turkey Creed Road, will sponsor its annual yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the church, located on the east side of Lake Wawasee.
The sales will take place in the church’s parking lot and fellowship hall. In the event of inclement weather all activities will be moved under a roof. The yard sale includes big ticket items such as indoor and outdoor furniture, nonmotorized watercraft and other watersports equipment.
The furniture is suitable for furnishing a home or lake cottage and the selection includes furniture for any room of the dwelling or for a deck or patio. Household items, yard decorations and a limited supply of antiques will also be available for purchase. The sale will not include clothing.
Anyone in the community may contribute “clean” items for the sale by dropping them off at the church. Beginning Tuesday, June 14, church personnel will be on hand during the day to receive contributions.
Church members will supply the inventory for the bake sale.
The Friday afternoon before the sale, “Church Yard Sale” signs will be placed along the roadway with arrows directing attendees to the event’s location. Wawasee Lakeside Chapel has been holding the annual event for well over 25 years.
Proceeds will go to designated church projects, which have included building an addition to the church, purchasing a sound system, buying new hymnals and acquiring landscaping services. A plan to improve fellowship hall acoustics is presently in the works.
The church also sponsors a youth group for middle and high school students and Sea Scouts, a coed program for youth interested in boating and sailing.
To contribute to the sale, call Pastor Brad Cox at (260) 856-2504.
