Beverly J. VanDyke
Beverly J. VanDyke went to be with her lord and savior at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw. She was 79 years old.
Born in Flint, Mich., Beverly was the daughter of Luther Thomas Coleman and Helen Marie (Dunnuck) Coleman. Beverly graduated from Mentone High School with the class of 1954.
She served the United States Army as a secretary and was honorably discharged in 1955.
On May 15, 1965 Beverly was married to Clemens Junior VanDyke. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1981.
Beverly worked as a waitress at the Holiday Inn in Warsaw and was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was a member of the Salvation Army and Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary. She liked to crochet, read and enjoyed many varieties of flowers. She also liked to watch TV and was especially fond of both soap operas and wrestling!
Those who loved Beverly and are left to cherish her memories are son: Jeffery VanDyke, Warsaw; and three step-daughters: Reta, Shirley and Roberta.
Beverly was preceded in passing by her parents: Helen Marie and Luther Thomas Coleman; her husband: Clemens Junior VanDyke; and her brother: Donald Edward Coleman.
Friends may gather for visitation and to share memories with family from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 24 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A celebration of life service will take place in the funeral home following the visitation, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Denny Bollenbacher, pastor of New Beginnings Church, Atwood and chaplain of Mason Healthcare Center will officiate the service. Burial will be in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green with military graveside honors conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
Gifts in Beverly’s memory may be given to the family and will be applied toward the cost of a cemetery monument. Please make your gift payable to Jeffery VanDyke.
