Elkhart To Host Hall Of Heroes Comic Con
ELKHART — The biggest annual pop culture event in the world is going to be celebrated in Elkhart in 2017.
Mayor Tim Neese has announced the city will play host to the “Hall of Heroes Comic Con Elkhart.”
The event will be held in The Lerner Theatre the weekend of March 10, 2017.
This will be the first Comic Con held in Elkhart, and the city is looking for community input.
With a date officially set, a logo contest is underway. There’s no fee to enter, and the winning logo will be featured on all promotional materials.
The contest deadline is midnight on September 1, and only one entry per person will be accepted. Entries can be submitted to: [email protected]

Mayor Tim Neese has announced a March 2017 date for Hall of Heroes Comic Con Elkhart. The event will be held in the Lerner Theatre the weekend of March 10.
Cities around the world play host to Comic Con in order to celebrate the role of comics in art and culture. This will be the first Comic Con held in Elkhart, and the city is seeking community input.
With a date officially set, a logo contest is now underway. There is no fee to enter, and the winning logo will be featured on all promotional materials for the event. Entries can be submitted to: [email protected].
Each entry must include the name, address and phone number of the entrant in addition to a design in JPG format. Entries should be easily resized, look good in both black and white, and color and be suitable for high quality printing. If your design is selected, you must be able to provide a high resolution vector file in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
The contest deadline is midnight on September 1, and only one entry per person will be accepted.
A committee has also been assembled to assist the mayor’s office and the Lerner Theatre in organizing the event. Allen Stewart and Deb Barrett will serve as co-chairs of the committee. Allen is the director of the Hall of Heroes Museum in Elkhart, the only super hero and comic book museum in the world. The committee will be tasked with fundraising, organizing volunteers and lining up artists, actors and vendors.
