Huffer Accused Of Stabbing Sister
WARSAW — A verbal argument allegedly took a violent turn last month and ended with Kennedy A. Huffer, 909 W. Hoppus Road, Warsaw, charged with battery to a family household member with a child under age 16 present, a level 6 felony.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, on Sunday, June 26, Huffer was in the kitchen peeling potatoes when she and her minor sister began arguing. The sister allegedly hit Huffer on the back and Huffer spun around with the knife in her hand. The knife made contact with her sister’s arm, causing injury.
Police received conflicting accounts as to what happened. Court documents state Huffer told police she turned around and the knife accidentally cut the sister’s arm; the sister stated Huffer deliberately stabbed her. A witness who was present sated she saw the sister attempt to provoke Huffer into a fight, when Huffer turned around and cut her sister on the arm.
As the fight was occurring, a minor under age 16 was present. Huffer was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on an $11,000 surety and cash bond.
