Winona Lake Fourth Of July Celebration Parade
WINONA LAKE — The day was beautiful for a celebration and Winona Lake’s Fourth of July Celebration brought in the crowds on Saturday, July 2. The theme this year was Indiana Bicentennial.
Winona Lake celebrated Independence Day with concession booths of food and drink, music, bounce houses and face-painting for the kids, but what had people the most captivated was the parade.
People lined the streets to watch the parade go by and the kids were quick to pick up the candy tossed by those in the parade.
The parade started at 6 p.m. and awards were given out around 6:45 p.m.
The winners in the following categories were:
- Judges category: Second place went to Winona Lake Pom Poms, with first place going to Hoosier Heritage.
- Most creative: Third place went to Mosquito Busters; second place was Blue Hair Theme and first place was awarded to Indiana Flag Marchers.
- Most original: Third place went to Eli Anglin, who was also named King Winona, for his firetruck theme; second place went to Keegan, Cameron and Brody and first place was given to Settlers of Indiana.
- Best theme: Second place went to Indiana Torch Bearers and first place went to Happy Birthday Indiana.
