Michael L. Kimes — UPDATED
Michael L. Kimes, “Mechanic 688,” 67, Warsaw and Goshen, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 14, 1949 to Howard L. and Edith L. (Price) Kimes. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1967 and served in the US Army from 1969-1971. He served as a Military Policeman during that time and Specialist E-4 Michael L. Kimes was honorably discharged Feb. 4, 1971.
He married Trudy Rodeffer March 2, 1990 and owned and operated CB Radio for 27 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He enjoyed electronics recycling and loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy, his three daughters: Leanna (Nick) Brand, Warsaw; Sarah (James Wheat) Kimes, Warsaw; Michelle (James) Yost, Sarcoxi, Mo.; five grandchildren: Cameron Heckaman, Kyle Heckaman, Caleb Heckaman, Beth Yost and Bridget Yost; two nieces and a nephew: Alycee Kissinger, Patrice Hygemia and Eric Kimes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Dallas Kimes; and a sister-in-law: Sandra Kimes.
The visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. July 9 at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Denny Bollenbacher of New Begginnings Church will preside. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw. Military graveside honors will be conducted by North Webster American Legion Post #253.
