Who Doesn’t Like Monster Trucks? [VIDEO]
WARSAW – Lightning. Rain. Wind. Evacuation notices. None of that stopped a nearly full grandstand of people Tuesday night from watching the world-famous Bigfoot and three of his best friends take to the air at the Kosciusko County Community Fair.
The monster truck show was delayed for only about 20 minutes, but made up for the wait with a very entertaining show in the fair grandstands. A demo to open the show showcased the aerial abilities of each of the four trucks, starting the demise of the junk cars on the course.
Each of the four trucks then competed around the track in timed trials, setting up their seeds for the Chicago Side To Side competition. Two trucks started on polar opposites of the course, making three passes back and forth, the first to jump the third ramp was deemed the winner. After the mud settled, Snakebite was first overall with Bigfoot second, Ballistic third and Nitemare fourth.
Nitemare took honors to start the freestyle finish, showing off the power of the machines and another opportunity to crush more steel on the course. Ballistic, Bigfoot and Snakebite closed the show with their showboat exploits, Bigfoot and Snakebite drawing the action to a close with a tandem finish.
The monster truck rally also had emcee Bobby Cox entertain the crowd in between sets. Children had the opportunity to lose their shoes on the track in a sprint for cash among some of the lighthearted moments. Cox also explained some of his ambitions outside the grandstand, raising money for Toys For Tots and giving away a bike to a little girl in the crowd.
