Deanna Jean Meyers
Deanna Jean (Tobias) Meyers, 71, Warsaw, died peacefully in her home Thursday, July 14, 2016, with her family at her side.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Clifford Meyers III; as well as six children: Elizabeth (Reali) Cramer, Ken Reali, Eric Meyers, Amy (Meyers) Poulos, Joseph (“Josh”) Meyers, and Meg (Meyers) Dawson. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters (Karen Evans and Cynthia Wandland) and one brother (Robert Tobias).
Born June 20, 1945, in Chicago, Deanna graduated from Eisenhower High School, Class of 1963 in Blue Island, Ill. Beautiful and stylish, she modeled in Chicago as a young woman. Deanna was employed by the Ace Hardware floral department in the 1980’s, then worked more than a decade with Helvey & Associates.
Deanna treasured her family above all else. She enjoyed sewing, making gifts for her loved ones, and relished extravagantly hand-made holidays. Music moved her, especially “Old Blue Eyes.” To her family’s delight, she was an accomplished cook specializing in showcasing the harvests from Robert’s gardens and orchards.
She was a long-time and active member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. “Dea,” Mom, “Grammie” is now enjoying a fully restored body and mind in the presence of Christ.
Visitation will be held at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Monday July 18, 10 a.m.-noon. Funeral and internment are immediately following at the church.
