Kosciusko County Cannabis Legalization Rally This Weekend
WARSAW — Around 200 people are expected to gather at the Kosciusko County Courthouse this weekend for one common goal, supporting the legalization of cannabis.
The Higher Fellowship is hosting a rally from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. The followship is an Indiana organization fighting for the use of hemp for agriculture as a means of economic growth, for the medicinal use of CBD and THC and for the ability to use or possess cannabis without legal repercussion. The fellowship is visiting 92 counties around Indiana for their Rally Tour.
The organization is asking for community members who share their beliefs to come to the event to show support. There will be informational speakers set up throughout the event to educate the public on the fellowship’s views.
Warsaw resident and co-host Breon Jones said that the courthouse was chosen as the location for the event to show professionalism.
“The impact I hope is that it’s just that the plant is understood as more than just a pop culture cult,” said Jones. “It can change lives. Hopefully it will get people more involved in the movement.”
