Merrick Joseph David Garlinger, 2 days old, Syracuse, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born on Aug. 2, 2016 in Goshen, to David L. and Samantha M. (Johnson) Garlinger.

He is survived by his parents, his maternal grandparents: Missy and Larry Flannery, Milford; and Benjie and Lena Johnson, Richwood, W.Va.; paternal grandparents: Donna Arnold, Syracuse and Phil Garlinger, Hartford City; maternal great grandparents: Ray and Barbara Johnson, Richwaood, W. Va.; Jim and Pearl Flanagan, Hackers Valley, W. Va.; paternal great grandparents: David and Lois Arnold, Vermillion, Ohio; Nancy and Wayne Beck, Painesville, Ohio; and Sharon Garlinger, Hartford City; aunts and uncles: Bethany, Katy, Chance, Jeremia, Jarron, Christopher, Kaili, Shelby and Andrew.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating.
