UPDATE: House Fire On Barbee Road
NORTH WEBSTER — The cause of a fire at 3795 N. Barbee Road, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 4, is still undetermined at this time. The call was received at approximately 4:45 p.m.
A passing motorist notified the county’s 911 Communications Center to report a house fire in the area of 28 EMS B51 Lane. Initial reports of flames coming through a window resulted in a full assist being called from Turkey Creek Fire Territory and tanker assist from Pierceton Fire Department.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy and North Webster Firefighter Chris Francis was the first to arrive and reported the exact location of the fire. He also reported the fire had been extinguished, resulting in the assistance from the two neighboring departments to be cancelled.
The fire was contained to the outside of the residence, with little smoke damage to the interior of the home. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters checked the area of the fire for any extension of the fire. Occupants present at the time of the fire were able to exit without injury.
According to the Kosciusko County Beacon Online mapping system, the home is owned by Kenneth and Sally Albert. Damage was estimated up to $5,000.
Firefighters were at the scene for approximately 30 minutes.
