Cockroaches, Bedbugs Found In Warsaw Apartments
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Health Department has declared the Victory Hotel, located at 223 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, a public health nuisance and unsafe premises.
On Aug. 3, Bill Baxter, environmental scientist for the Kosciusko County Health Department, notified the owner, Kim Leasure, that cockroaches and bedbugs had been observed in several locations of the apartment complex. Leasure has until Aug. 18, to hire a professional pest control company to get rid of the infestation problem. Leasure must also obtain a six-month contract with the pest control company in order to assure the property remains bug-free.
If the owner of Victory Hotel does not act before Aug. 18, then the property may be condemned.
This isn’t the first time that town has had issues with Victory Hotel. In September, 2014, a stolen moped led the Warsaw Police Department to find an active meth lab inside of the apartment complex.
