Herbicide Business Approved By County BZA
WARSAW — During the regular monthly meeting of the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Warsaw, the petition for Lex Dalton was granted approval. Dalton asked for an exception to alter a previously granted petition by allowing a custom herbicide application business (seasonal) on property zoned agricultural.
The property is located on the south side of Syracuse-Webster Road, southeast of CR 900N in Turkey Creek Township.
Other agenda items included:
• Mark Laurent was granted a variance to permit construction of a residence addition on Nordman Drive, north of Koher Road South in Turkey Creek Township.
• Michael Mathews was granted an exception to construct an oversized accessory building, a detached garage, on South Drive, east of Kilmer Drive in Van Buren Township. He was also granted a variance to allow the detached garage 10 feet from the west right of way and 5 feet from the north sideline.
• Randall Ruppel was granted an exception to allow a residential accessory building to remain as placed on a tract without a residence on Lakewood Avenue, east of Elm Street in Wayne Township. He was also granted a variance to allow the accessory building, a shed, to remain as placed and to allow a 5-foot tall fence in a front yard.
• Tim Lowman was granted a variance to permit construction of an agricultural accessory addition on Oakwood Drive, south of Old Road 30 in Wayne Township.
• Kenneth and Erin Miller were granted a variance to permit allowing a residence accessory building 35 feet from the road right of way on Parks Schram Road in Harrison Township.
• James Hochstetler was granted a variance to temporarily allow two residences on one tract. An agricultural building will be used for living quarters for parents and return to its ag use when no longer needed as living quarters on CR 1350N, east of CR 750W in Jefferson Township.
• Drew Wottring was granted a variance to allow reconstruction of a residence 20 feet from the right of way on EMS C24E Lane, south of EMS C24F Lane in Plain Township.
• Steven Dandurand was granted a variance to allow construction of a new residence on EMS B42D Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Robert and Sandra McNary were granted an exception to allow construction of an oversized accessory building on East Wawasee Drive, west of Wawasee Circle West in Turkey Creek Township.
• Erin McAdams was granted a variance to permit construction of a residence addition (covering a deck) on McKenna Road at the intersection with EMS B36 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Ted and Towana Winters were granted a variance to permit reconstruction of a foundation on EMS B60 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Christopher and Deborah Longawa were granted a variance to permit construction of a residence addition on EMS C19B Lane in Plain Township.
• Petitions for Carroll McCreary, Glenda Michael and Ron Zimny were tabled until the Sept. 13 meeting due to a lack of quorum. Only three of the five board members were present.
