Kentucky Arsonist Catches Self On Fire
MADISONVILLE, KY. — Police in Kentucky are searching for suspects in an attempted arson gone wrong.
The Madisonville Police Department posted security video of the crime on social media Monday afternoon. The video shows a woman getting out of a white van and swinging something at a door to the building.
After the woman returns to the van, the driver gets out and tosses something toward the building. The driver goes back to the van and pulls out another item, which appears to be a bottle containing a liquid and tosses it at the building.
There is a burst of flames, which catches the suspect’s shorts and leg on fire. He goes running, where the man is picked up by a second security camera, showing him sprint through the parking lot, then tumble into the grass on the other side of the building.
The suspect throws what appears to be a shoe and gets another bottle, pouring more liquid on the fire before driving off.
Police say the building is a new business in town and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
Madisonville is about 50 miles south of Evansville, Indiana.
