Connecticut Couple Injured In Beaver Attack
KILLINGLY, CONN. — A Connecticut couple is recovering from injuries they suffered in a beaver attack.
The couple was wading in the Quinebaug River in Killingly Monday evening, Aug. 8, when the attack occurred.
The aggressive beaver attacked the woman, biting her on her side and finger.
The man tried to pull the beaver off and he was bitten on the back of the leg.
It’s not normal for a beaver to behave aggressively toward humans, so officials have not ruled out rabies.
The State Environmental Conservation Police launched a search for the animal on Tuesday and encountered an aggressive beaver, but were unable to capture it.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is advising boaters and swimmers to stay out of the water in that area.
