Flash Flood Watch In Effect
NORTHERN INDIANA — The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a flash flood watch beginning at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, through Tuesday morning, Aug. 16.
The watch has been issued for portions of northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan, including Kosciusko County, ELkhart County, Fulton County, Whitley County, Marshall County, Cass County, LaPorte County, LaGrange County, Miami County, Pulaski County, St. Joseph County, Starke County, Steuben County, Wabash County and White County in Indiana and Berrian, Branch, Cass and St. Joseph counties in Michigan.
Heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is possible, with locally higher amounts in some areas. Rapid runoff may cause low-lying areas to quickly flood, in addition to possible flash flooding of small rivers and creeks.
Significant rises on larger rivers is possible.
