Molina Charged With Identity Deception
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Jesus Armando Molina, 31, 807 Oakdale Drive, Elkhart, is being charged with a level 6 felony of identity deception.
On Aug. 4, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department met with a woman who lives in the county that advised her husband had received a call from a federal security officer. The federal security officer told the man that there was someone working at Reflex Industries in Elkhart using his name. The man has never worked for the company.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department went to Reflex Industries to speak with the control supervisor. The supervisor advised that a man using the stolen identity had begun working there in July. When Molina applied for the job he provided a W4 tax form, employment eligibility verification, a social security card and a permanent resident card all using the stolen identity.
The officer then went to the address listed on the job application and showed the resident a photograph of Molina. The resident advised that Molina was his cousin.
When the officer finally located Molina, he admitted to purchasing a social security card and identification card from a subject in Chicago for $250. Molina also admitted to filling out the job application and tax forms at Reflex Industries without the consent or knowledge of the person whose identity he was using.
Molina is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
