Girls Soccer
Breck Jackson started her senior season in fine fashion Monday night, scoring a goal and assisting another in Warsaw’s 2-0 win at Fort Wayne Carroll.
Jackson, who plays central defense, assisted on Brenna Buhrt’s goal in the 54th minute, then punched home a 25-yard free kick eight minutes later.
Jackson and the Tiger defense were able to shut out Carroll’s defense despite allowing 10 shots. Keeper Chloe Snow made all 10 stops to record the clean slate.
“What an incredible match by two top teams,” stated Warsaw head coach Peter Lucht. “Carroll has a great program led by a great coach. Our girls fought hard tonight – showing tenacity in adverse weather conditions, fighting through tackles, battling hard against a great opponent. All of the girls deserve special recognition tonight.”
Fort Wayne claimed the JV contest 3-0. Scorers for the Chargers were not provided.
Warsaw (1-0) will visit Manchester Thursday.
