Dutton Arrested After Snatching Purse From Vehicle
WARSAW — An attempted purse snatching led to the arrest of a Warsaw resident with prior convictions for theft and conversion.
An affidavit of probable cause, dated July 22, states that officers with the Warsaw Police Department received a call Monday, July 11, from a female subject reporting her purse had been stolen from her vehicle. Officers arrived and spoke with the subject, who told them she saw Skyler Lee Dutton, 23, 519 W. Winona Ave, Warsaw, steal her purse from her vehicle.
The purse contained a cell phone, class ring and $112 in cash. The subject was able to tell police what Dutton was wearing and to describe his facial tattoos.
Officers found Dutton in his home and he showed officers where he had discarded the purse, cell phone and wallet. He also returned the cash.
Officers found Dutton has a previous conviction for conversion in Kosciusko County Superior Court, a previous conviction of theft in Kosciusko County Circuit Court and another previous conviction for conversion in Wabash County Superior Court.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Tuesday, Aug. 16, with bond set at $10,250.
