Rose’s Homer Leads To Cubs Win
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Matt Rose hit a solo home run in the eighth inning, leading the South Bend Cubs to a 6-4 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Thursday.
The home run by Rose gave the Cubs a 5-4 lead.
The Cubs tacked on another run in the ninth when Vimael Machin hit an RBI double, scoring Adonis Paula.
Adbert Alzolay (9-4) got the win in relief while Bryan Bonnell (3-2) took the loss in the Midwest League game. Dillon Maples pitched two scoreless innings for his seventh save of the season.
South Bend moves on to a three-game set this weekend at Lansing, first pitch Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
