Clarice “June” Honer
Clarice “June” Honer, 89, Syracuse, formerly of Chicago, Ill., passed away Friday, Aug. 19, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born on July 9, 1927, the daughter of Frank Arnold and Martha E. (Richards) Swanson in Chicago, Ill. On Feb. 1, 1969, she married Jack Honer in Ligonier; he preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter: Jan (Rick) McGee-Searls, Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her husband; and parents.
June moved to South Bend coming from Chicago and resided there for a few years before moving to Syracuse where she resided for over 54 years. She retired from Monsanto in Ligonier after over 20 years of service in the Human Resources department and loved bowling, birds and flowers. June was also a member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
A private family graveside service in June’s honor will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Pastor and longtime family friend, Harlan Steffen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse.
