Briseno Arrested For Stealing Grandmother’s Car
CLAYPOOL — Erin Renee Briseno, 26, 308 South Main Street, Claypool, was arrested for a level 6 felony of auto theft.
On July 28, Briseno and her boyfriend visited her grandmother in Kosciusko County. Briseno and her boyfriend left the residence with their grandmother’s vehicle without her consent. Briseno’s grandmother discovered that the couple had left for Des Moines, Iowa with her vehicle.
The grandmother contacted an officer with the Claypool Police Department on Aug. 1 regarding the theft. The Claypool officer got in contact with an officer from Iowa, who confirmed that Briseno had been in Des Moines and had left her child at a residence.
The Iowa officer located the stolen vehicle, which was occupied by Briseno’s boyfriend. The Iowa officer discovered that Briseno had ran away from her boyfriend earlier in the day.
The officer recovered and impounded the vehicle to be returned to the grandmother.
Briseno was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $5,250 surety and cash.
