Republican Headquarters Opens In Kosciusko County
WARSAW — The Republican Headquarters for Kosciusko County had their grand opening on Friday, Aug. 26. Janet Holcomb, wife of Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, who is a candidate for governor, District 2 U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski, Amanda Banks, wife of State Sen. Jim Banks, who is candidate for U.S. Representative District 3 were in attendance.
Marsha McSherry, vice chair woman of the Republican Central Committee, stated that volunteers will be helping to run the headquarters and they are always welcome to have more volunteers. McSherry said interested individuals can sign up to help pass out literature, make calls or help run the headquarters.
Walorski who is running for re-election as District 2 U.S. Representative spoke at the ceremony stating she was excited to have the headquarters open in Kosciusko County. Walorski emphasized in her speech what an important time it is for Indiana in politics.
“The nation is looking towards Indiana, they are expecting us to lead the nation,” said Walorski.
Holcomb took a break from the campaign trail with her husband to speak at the ceremony. She emphasized “It’s not a surprise that when Donald Trump picked his running mate, he looked to Indiana.”
Holcomb emphasized, “We’re feeling very confident” in reference to her husband’s campaign for governor. Holcomb explained that with the short amount of time they have had to campaign, they have been, “full on sprint.” In the last month they’ve been traveling quite a bit, they’ve been to county fairs, festivals and parades.
Banks stated, “Jim is looking forward to representing Kosciusko County,” if he becomes the U.S. Representative for District 3.
The headquarters will be open through election day in November. Yard signs and literature will be available at the headquarters. They will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
