New Officers Guide TOPS Members’ Healthy Lifestyle
COLUMBIA CITY — TOPS Club Inc., known as Take Off Pounds Sensibly, announced members of TOPS 1051 in Columbia City recently named Nancy Peterson as their new chapter leader. Other officers were also elected, including the co-leader, secretary and treasurer.
Betty Schnepp is the chapter’s weight recorder. She records the weights of each member during weekly weigh-ins and submits these numbers to the designated TOPS field staff members. Absolute confidentiality is required as is the ability to support members if they gain and applaud when they have a loss.
“At TOPS we understand that losing weight is a journey. It’s the consistent encouragement, understanding and strength from people who are struggling with similar issues that make this organization so successful,” commented Peterson.
Weekly meetings of TOPS 1051 take place at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 204 N. Main St., Columbia City. In addition to residents of Whitley County, members include residents of Noble, Huntington and Kosciusko counties. Visitors are always welcome to attend their first TOPS meeting free of charge.
