Eunice ‘Babe’ Marchand
Eunice “Babe” Marchand, 103, Goshen, formerly of New Paris, died 6:52 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at Courtyard Healthcare.
She was born Nov. 9, 1912 in Chicago, Ill. to Leroy and Clara Ludlum.
She married Denola Dale “Bill” Marchand on Sept. 25, 1932 and he died Aug. 13, 1961.
Surviving are a son, Douglas E. (Lynn) Marchand: grandchildren: Melinda (Tom) Hinkle, Ellie Marchand and Charles Marchand, all of New Paris; and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Denola Dale “Bill” Marchand, sons: Charles and Dale Marchand; two brothers and two sisters.
Eunice worked at Goshen Rubber for 22 and a half years, retiring in March 1977. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris and the Elkhart County Extension Club. She also was a volunteer at Goshen Hospital and the Red Cross.
A private family burial will be held at New Paris Cemetery. Pastor Stan Godfrey will officiate.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
