Get Help From Experienced Knitters At Knitting Club
MILFORD — Turn a mason jar into a beautiful fall luminary from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Milford Public Library. All supplies are provided. This craft costs $10.
This is a great way to get ready for fall and meet others in the community. To participate, you must sign up at the adult circulation desk by 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The $10 fee is due at registration.
Knitting Club
Knitting Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Even if you’ve never picked up a pair of knitting needles before, you’ll find plenty of help to get you started. The Knitting Club meets the first and third Fridays of every month in the teen department upstairs.
Fall Preschool Story Time
Fall story time is back. The first session begins Wednesday, Sept. 28. Bring your preschool-aged child in to learn about spiders, weird science, space and other subjects. Kids will listen to stories, participate in activities and have a snack. Story time is free. It’s fun and it’s beneficial.
Story time is an activity that doesn’t require any skills or preparation time of parents or children. You get to meet other parents and children. Families have an opportunity to explore the library as a free resource for life-long learning. Don’t forget how reading connects us. When we read to kids, we send the message: You are important. Register your child beginning Monday, Sept. 19. Story time is held at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays or 7 p.m. Thursdays.
Tax Exempt Donation
Those of you looking to make tax exempt donations, please consider making a donation to the Milford Public Library Endowment Fund. The fund was established to someday generate an extra source of income for the library’s operating fund. Their hope is the library will be around for many years to come, providing needed and appreciated services to the Milford community. Making a donation to the endowment will support this goal. If you would like more information, call (574) 658-4312 and ask for Julie.
Statewide Remote Circulation System
Starting Monday, Sept. 19, this new service is available to Milford Public Library patrons. Indiana’s Statewide Remote Circulation System combines catalogs into one system so patrons can search and place holds on items from any participating library. Currently, about 167 Hoosier libraries participate.
This is a great way to get items not available locally. There will be an icon on the library’s web page to access SRCS. Have questions? Ask a library staff member.
