Warsaw Man Arrested For 2015 Robbery
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for a 2015 robbery that led to the victim being admitted to the hospital.
Valente Ceballos Jr., 32, 423 E. Levi Lee Rd., Warsaw is being charged with robbery with serious bodily injury, a level 2 felony and battery causing serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a battery call on Nov. 1, 2015. The officer discovered the victim had a swollen eye and multiple contusions to the forehead and back of head.
The victim advised that Apolonio Corral had come to his residence because the victim had been with Corral’s daughter the night before. The victim stated that he was sleeping on the couch at a friend’s house when he was woken up by Lori Aguilera slapping him in the face.
The victim observed Corral, Ceballos and Armando Gutierrez in the residence. Corral had a pistol with him, but never pointed it at the victim. Corral, Ceballos and Gutierrez began hitting the victim on the head and face repeatedly. They then took the victim’s wallet with $500 and his Iphone.
The victim was admitted into the intensive care unit at Lutheran Hospital with internal bleeding behind his right eye. The victim lost vision in that eye and was tested for hemorrhaging on the brain.
Gutierrez and Aguilera were booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 9, 2015.
Ceballos was arrested on Sept. 11 and is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail with a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
