North Webster Elementary PTO Walk-A-Thon Oct. 7

NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Elementary School will be having it’s fifth annual Parent Teacher Organization Walk-A-thon Friday, Oct. 7. All of the money raised by the students is given back to the school via field trips, classroom funds, and educational enhancements. Last year’s donations allowed each classroom to have an additional budget to spend focused on Innovation and Inquiry.
This year’s focus will be to provide new resources for project based learning.
On Walk-A-thon day, students will walk with their class for 20 minutes around the school track where they will stop at stations along the way for fun activities. Toward the end of the day, teachers and staff participate in a friendly competition. Students always enjoy cheering for their teachers and watching them compete against each other.
Every student who participates in the Walk-A-thon will be given a Warrior T-shirt. Students who raise $50 will receive free admission to a skating party in October.
The student collecting the most money overall will win an Xbox One with Minecraft game donated by the North Webster Community Center. Second place will be an overnight stay donated by The Wyndham Garden, Warsaw, with four movie tickets from North Pointe Cinema and a large pizza from Papa Johns Pizza. Third place will be a project based fun pack with Legos, Snap Circuits, and more.
Parent volunteers are welcome and needed. If you are a parent or friend of a North Webster Elementary student and would like to assist on Walk-A-thon day, send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Donations are tax deductible and can be sent payable to North Webster Elementary PTO, Attn: Walk-A-Thon, 5745 N 750 E, North Webster, IN 46555. Donors may specify a student they wish to be credited in the memo line.
