Hall Sentenced on Two Cases
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was sentenced on two separate cases this morning, Monday, Sept. 19.
Mitchell Patrick Hall, 44, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, pleaded guilty to invasion of privacy, possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.
The invasion of privacy case stems from a criminal case that was filed against Hall for domestic battery on March 24. The victim later obtained a protective order against him. The order prohibited Hall from stalking, harassing, annoying, telephoning, contacting or communicating directly or indirectly with the victim.
After the protective order was made, Hall attempted to speak to the victim in the parking lot of the place of her employment, followed her to locations in an attempt to speak with her and left a stuffed animal and a bag of energy drinks on her vehicle.
On May 4, Hall opened the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle, reached in and was rummaging around the passenger seat. When the victim began to scream for him to go away, he stepped back from the vehicle. He called her a name and stated she would be dealt with. The victim’s daughter was a witness and was told to call 911 by her mother.
Hall was sentenced to serve one year in the Kosciusko County Jail for the invasion of privacy charge. Three counts of stalking were dismissed from the case as part of the plea agreement.
The victim was present in court and asked through the state for any other means of safety that the court could grant her. The no contact order against Hall will remain in effect until 2018.
Hall was also sentenced on the charges of possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia. For these charges, Hall is to serve one year and 60 days in the Kosciusko County Jail. These charges are to be served concurrently but consecutively to Hall’s other charges.
“I’ve known you for a long time,” said Judge Reed to Hall. “I still like you but I don’t like what you’ve done and what you continue to do.”
