Carmel Parents Arrested After Teens Found To Be Malnourished, Abused
CARMEL — Two Carmel parents have been arrested on child neglect charges after two of their children were deemed to be malnourished and abused.
Forty-year-old Quantae Johnson and 42-year-old Brandee Johnson were arrested on August 30.
According to Carmel Police Department, the arrests stemmed from the investigation into a child abuse complaint after a teen runaway was apprehended. CPD said a 14-year-old runaway was found on August 24. He was hospitalized and determined to be malnourished and suffering from injuries indicative of child abuse.
Five siblings were then interviewed. Another teen was determined to also be malnourished and abused. All six children have been placed in protective custody by the Department of Child Services.
Online court records show that each parent faces two counts of neglect.
