Sharon Kay Shepherd — UPDATED
Sharon Kay Shepherd crossed over to her Heavenly Home, Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester. She was 64 years old at the time of her death and was surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon Kay was given by God to parents, Clyde and Emma Jean (Adams) Shepherd on Nov. 2, 1951 in Warsaw. It was in the Warsaw and North Manchester areas that she would spend the majority of her lifetime.
She had attended Cardinal Learning Center and worked in the workshop there for several years.
Sharon was a loving person who never met a stranger. She adored her dog, Ginger and was a member of a handbell choir, once performing for the President of the United States.
Sharon Kay Shepherd was a special child of God whose contagious smile will be missed by many. Her surviving family includes a sister: Barbara Jean Prater, North Manchester; niece: Chasity (and husband, Matthew) Sandy, Warsaw; two nephews: Ralph Prater, Syracuse; and Gregory (and wife, Kristal) Prater, North Webster; three great-nieces: Kylee Schooley, Warsaw; Nicole Schooley, Pierceton; and Kacey Prater, Syracuse; and a great-nephew: Kamron Prater, Knapp Lake, Indiana.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Emma Jean Shepherd and a nephew: Kyle Abraham Prater.
Friends may join the family for a time of sharing and visitation FROM 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580.
A funeral service which celebrates Sharon’s life will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in the funeral home. Pastor Jerry Creekmore will officiate the services. Burial will take place in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
The family has asked that memorial gifts be made to Titus Funeral Home to defray the cost of funeral expenses.
