Triton Tennis: Trojans Advance At HNAC Tourney
KNOX – The Triton boys tennis team had a strong showing in the opening round of the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament Wednesday night.
The Trojans claimed a trio of wins to earn berths in the championship round at three of the five positions.
Senior Mace Eads led the way for coach Al Peckham’s team with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles action.
Carter Kuntz of the Trojans posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles play to advance to the finals.
The No. 1 Triton doubles duo of Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler won by a 6-0, 6-4 final.
Aaron Stichter of the Trojans lost a 7-5, 6-0 final in his match at No. 2 singles. The No. 2 doubles team of Jonathan Tolson and Corey Hackler lost 6-3, 6-0 for Triton.
The Triton quartet will play in the championship round on Thursday at Knox. Eads will face Eian Coad of Knox, while Kuntz will play jacob Heineman of Knox. The doubles team of Mosier and Butler will face Ethan Cooper and Jake Krueger of Knox.
