Syracuse Man Arrested for Using Town Credit Card
SYRACUSE — A syracuse man has been arrested for failure to appear on a fraud charge.
Aarron Lee Warren, 26, 519 Harbour Landing Drive, Syracuse, was arrested Feb. 26 and charged with one count of fraud, a level 6 Felony, and one count of theft, a Class A Misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department had used the town of Syracuse credit card Feb. 17 at the Syracuse post office. After leaving the facility the officer could not find the card.
When the officer reported the card missing, the town of Syracuse clerk called Visa card’s fraud department who advised the card had been used at the Syracuse Marathon Station on Feb. 17, and at CVS Redbox. They also advised that they were able to stop a transaction at the McClure gas station.
The officer then went to the Marathon Gas Station and spoke with the attendant who advised the officer that the card had been used to purchase cigarettes, and the male subject had not signed the receipt. Surveillance footage was obtained where the subject could be observed using the town of Syracuse card to purchase cigarettes. The officer recognized Warren who matched the description provided by the attendant.
Warren was booked on Sept. 23 for failure to appear on the charge and is being held at Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
