Warsaw Board Of School Trustees Discuss Budget
WARSAW — The Board of School trustees held a brief budget meeting on Monday, Oct. 3. Brandon Penrod, chief financial advisor, presented the board with information about various levies and caps within the budget.
Penrod explained this year’s budget would not vary much from last year’s budget. Pernod mentioned the pension debt will remain the same as last year.
Penrod stated as he created the budget, he was careful to make sure the miscellaneous revenue portion was not overestimated, which could potentially leave the school budget short.
He mentioned the difference between this fiscal year next year is essentially flat with the difference amounting to $125,507.
The transportation fund levy cap fund has $2,958,950 as its max levy. The budget also reflects the need to replace seven lunch units. Penrod has allotted $821,588 to replace the units. Pernod mentioned the total debt and referendum fund total 2.3 billion.
After Penrod’s presentation, the board mentioned did not have any questions or concerns.
Pernod explained within the next few weeks, he will be requesting the board to adopt the budget.
