Local Band Heads to Nashville
WARSAW — Local band Mark Allen & Company has already had music heard worldwide, and they’re headed to Nashville, Tenn. to perform.
Mark Allen & Company was formed by Mark Allen around seven months ago, consisting of bandmates Mark Allen. Dean “Shady Kenny” Chaplin, Tage Allen and Zack Shumaker. Since then their music has been heard around the world. “People have heard our music in Canada, Brazil, Korea. It’s crazy,” says frontman Mark Allen. “They [satellite radio] have us in line-ups with Seether, Shinedown and Green Day.”
Their recent album, “Johnny the Tree” was released around seven weeks ago. While the CD was produced by Sweetwater, all the songs and artwork were produced and recorded locally. The album consists of nine songs, three of which could be heard on their demo released earlier this year, with “Hey, Baby, I Got You” being the most widely distributed and featured in the locally produced film “Touched”.
While preparing for Nashville, the band recently performed a set at October’s First Friday event. “That was a good time,” commented Allen.
The CD is currently available at Karma now and Wooden Nickel in Fort Wayne later this week. The CD can also be purchased through Allen by emailing him at [email protected].
