Shane E. Blackburn, 44, Warsaw, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, in Warsaw.

He was born in South Bend Sept. 13, 1972 to Diane Blackburn – Hicks.

He married Brittany Rhoades June 17, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was a graduate of Wawasee High School, Syracuse. Shane worked for the Kosciusko County Jail as a jailer for 13 years. He also was a Reserve Officer for six years with the Milford Police Department.

He attended Warsaw Community Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Shane is survived by his wife, Brittany Blackburn; three children: Colette, Colter and Brixen Blackburn; parents: Chris and Kathy Rhoades, all of Warsaw; his mother, Diane Blackburn–Hicks, Syracuse; three sisters: Michelle (Chad) Dailing, Milford; Tamara (Jamison) Tanner, Warsaw; Chelsey (Jeff) Parker, Claypool; six grandparents: John Blackburn, Goshen; Pete Avalos, Milford; Rebecca Runnells, Warsaw; Larrie Runnells, Rochester; Sue Rhoades, Warsaw; Diana Rhoades, Warsaw; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by Norma Avalos, Milford; Don Hicks, Syracuse; Bill Rhoades, Warsaw; Bill and Dorothy Robinson, Milford; and Bernice Toth, Rochester.

There will be a service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Jamy Gregory officating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
