Frank Knez Sr.
Frank Knez Sr., 88, Leesburg, passed away at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 12, 1928 in Zeigler, Ill. to George and Elizabeth (Kalavaric) Knez.
He graduated in 1947 from Zeigler High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on Jan. 31, 1953 in Chicago to Denna L. Brewer, who survives. He retired in Dec. 1989 from Patten Industries in Hammond after more than 37 years of service and moved to the Leesburg area 30 years ago from Sauk Village, Ill.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church & American Legion Post 253 both in North Webster.
He is survived by his wife; three sons: Frank (Amy) Knez Jr., Indianapolis; Rob (Kim) Knez, Bremen; and Steve (Melisa) Knez, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; seven grandsons and eight great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Denice Knez; and two half-brothers: George and Joe Orlovich.
Private family funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, IN with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the church officiating. Cremation will then take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw. Burial will take place in the Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, Ill. at a later date.
