KABS To Provide Free Transportation to Polls
WARSAW — Transportation Manager Robert Cunningham reminded the public that KABS will be offering free transportation to election polls, Tuesday, Nov. 8. A single bus will be allocated to the service. To schedule a ride contact KABS at (574) 267-4990.
Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine asked the commissioners for $6,240 to have BlueStream, a CenturyLink partner, inspect the tower in the Boggs Industrial Park to make sure it is sturdy enough to support the dispatch antenna. The original quote of the inspection was $19,800. As an FCC requirement, the inspection is required to move the antenna and keep the dispatch system functional. Brad Jackson made a motion to approve the funds. It was seconded by Bob Conley with no discussion. the commissioners voted to apporve the funds.
County Administrator Ron Robinson brought forward quotes for the closing and remodel of the Munson building at 216 N. Lake St., Warsaw. Robinson stated that the plans are to remove the front portion of the building, which is an attached modular. The removal of this section will allow for more parking spaces in the adjacent county parking lot. Robinson recommended the commissioners approve Butt and Timmons Construction, as they offered the lowest quote. The commissioners approved the recommendation.
In other business:
- Robert Cunningham finished the Cardinal Center KABS audit report and gave it to the commissioners.
- A salary contract for the sheriff was approved for $113,049.
- Auditor Michelle Puckett brought forward the Solid Water Inter-Local Agreement that allows the county auditor to be controller of the solid waste district. It was approved.
- Scott Tilden asked the commissioners to approve the municipal lease on five new dump trucks. One of the former trucks is being refitted to be used as a plow at the municipal airport.
- Gary VanKirk was presented Veteran of the Month.
