LCA Girls Basketball: Cougars Roll In Opener
ALBION – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team got its season off to some start Tuesday night.
The Cougars did not allow a point until the third quarter in routing host Cornerstone Christian 37-3.
LCA led 12-0 after the opening quarter and took a 24-0 lead into the locker room at halftime of the season-opening contest.
Anna Reimink led the way for the winners with eight points to go with four rebounds and seven steals.
The trio of Melissa Goss, Abigail Fishel and Heather Plastow each scored six points for the Cougars. Goss also had four rebounds and nine steals, while Fishel and Plastow each had four rebounds in the win.
Jess Slone contributed five points and eight rebounds to the winning effort. The trio of Hannah Salmons, Maddie Paris and Brady Gross each netted two points. Gross also had five rebounds.
LCA (1-0) plays at South Bend Career Academy Friday night and at North Miami on Saturday night.
