Alpha Rose Cissna
Former Leiters Ford resident, Alpha Rose Cissna, 75, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed at 10:53 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Logansport.
On July 24, 1941, Alpha was born. She was the cherished daughter of Fred D. and Rose Zora Jones. Growing up as one of seven children she shared her childhood with five brothers and a sister. Alpha was a proud graduate of Lebanon High School with the Class of 1959.
In Chandler, Sept. 13, 1959, Alpha Rose married the love of her life Dan Michael Cissna. Over the years they became best friends. Together they shared over 54 years of life’s adventures while raising four wonderful children, two daughters, Lisa and Patty and two sons, Mike and John. Sadly Dan passed from this life to his eternal home March 29, 2014.
As an automotive quality control inspector, Alpha worked at Switches in Bruce Lake and Leiters Ford.
Alpha Rose is lovingly remembered by two daughters: Lisa Evers, Logansport and her children: Dan and Courtney Estes, Kristen and Jonathan Rockey, Shane and Anastasia Evers and Eric and Sabrina Novak; and Patty Caruana and husband Dave, Rockford, Ill. and their children: Dante, Christopher, and Emily Caruana; a son, Mike Cissna and wife Michelle, Plymouth and their children: Kathleen and Michael Aman and Stephanie and Kyle Hilliard; nine great grandchildren: Carson, Chloe, Zoe, Eli, Liam, Nolan, Zander, Owen and Ethan; a sister, Martha Lett, Boonville; five brothers: Fred David Jones and wife Linda, Boonville; Carl Jones and wife Wanda, Evansville; Gordon Jones and wife Patsy, Jasper; Ernie Jones and wife Jennifer, Evansville; and Lloyd Jones and wife Sandy, Newburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Alpha in death are her parents, beloved husband, and son, John David, March 19, 2009.
Pastor Michael Aman will officiate services. Interment will be in the Leiters Ford Cemetery.
