Steven J. Neidig
Steven J. Neidig, 68, Bourbon, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 8, 2016, in his home.
Steven was born May 30, 1948, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Reichert) Neidig. He has been a lifelong resident of the area and attended Bourbon High School. He was owner of Neidig’s Garage.
He was a very community oriented person. He was involved in many things which include: Bourbon First United Methodist Church, Bourbon American Legion Post# 424, Volunteer Fireman (Bourbon FireDepartment) serving for many years.
Steve was also a Veteran of the united States Army serving in the Vietnam War 1968-1970. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, motor sports, wood working and John Deere tractors. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
Steve married Lois Roger Oct. 7, 1973; she died March 16, 1992. He the married Randy Weller Jan. 1, 2000. She survives along with two sons: Heath (Dina) Neidig, Plymouth; Adam Neidig, Bourbon; and step-son, Tom Wagoner, Warsaw. He was also blessed with four grandchildren: Shelby Wagoner, Bodie Neidig, Aniston Neidig and Aerial Neidig; step-mother, Bernadine Neidig, Bourbon; six sisters: Suzanne Smith, Bourbon; Patti (Andy) Cook, Etna Green; Mary (David) McConnell, Etna Green; Carol (Dean) Swingle, Bremen; Becky (Jim) Scarberry, Bourbon; and Rachel Rodriguez, Tippecanoe; his brothers: Terry (Alma) Neidig, Bourbon; and Dennis (Deb) Neidig, Bourbon. He also leaves hundreds of nieces and nephews and his aunt Ruth of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn Leonard.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 in Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St. Bourbon, IN 46504.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the Church with Pastor Rob Seewald officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon, Indiana with graveside military services by the Bourbon American Legion..
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Bourbon Fire Department
