Michael A. ‘Mike’ Baumgartner — UPDATED
Michael A. “Mike” Baumgartner, 67, Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at his home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1949 in Goshen to Richard Earl and Marjorie J. (Miller) Baumgartner.
He graduated in 1967 from New Paris High School and was a United States Navy Veteran. He grew up in Syracuse and lived in Alaska and Oregon for several years before returning to the Syracuse area in the 1990’s. He was formerly employed with a logging company in Alaska for 20+ years and Sudlow Pier Shop in Syracuse for 8 years.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse.
He is survived by his sister, Judy (Dennis) Sharp, Milford; brother, Jack Bamgartner, Syracuse; niece, Marjorie Parker-Slusser; a great niece, Cassidy Parker; and a great nephew, Kailer Slusser.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No public services are planned at this time. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw. Private family burial will take place at the Felkner Cemetery in Milford at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
