A pick up truck struck a forklift in an accident, Monday, Nov. 14.

MILFORD — Lowell Rassi, 88, Camelot Lane, Syracuse, and Kenneth J. Keene, 55, East Street of Dreams, Cromwell, were transported to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, following an accident at 7:37 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14. The accident was on North Old SR 15, south of East CR 1300N, Milford.

Milford Police reported Rassi was southbound on Old SR 15 and collided with a southbound forklift operated by Keene. The impact pushed the forklift off the road into the yard of Arnold Doll, 807 N. Old SR 15. Keene was ejected from the forklift. Rassi was able to tell police he didn’t know what happened, but he had hit something, but didn’t know what. Police found the caution light on the forklift, owned by Thor Industries Inc., Elkhart, was not in operation.

Rassi suffered a compound fracture to the left wrist along with lacerations and contusions to the upper body. Keene suffered a severe left leg injury.

Damage to the truck, forklift, NIPSCO pole and yard were estimated up to $25,000.

Milford Police and Fire departments, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Lutheran EMS-Kosciusko responded.
