Interra Sponsors Fall Food Drive
GOSHEN — Interra Credit Union recently completed its annual Fall Food Drive. Donations of food, personal care items and monetary gifts were distributed throughout the six-county area served by the credit union’s 16 offices.
To get the momentum started, Interra employees were offered an incentive to bring in donated items and/or money. Winners were drawn and received monetary awards. The project raised nearly $1,000 in cash and several boxes of donated items to the food pantries. Members were invited to participate in late October and almost $1,000 was donated by members, and more items for the pantries were also collected.
The three Goshen offices collected for the Salvation Army and The Window; Bremen, the Bremen Food Pantry; Elkhart, Church Community Services; Etna Green, Church of Christ Food Pantry; Middlebury, Middlebury Food Pantry; Millersburg and New Paris, Fairfield Food Pantry; Nappanee, Open Door; Shipshewana, Clothes & Food Basket of LaGrange County; Syracuse, Syracuse Food Pantry; Topeka, Christ’s Community Cupboard; and Wakarusa, Family Christian Development Center. At the culmination of the Fall Food Drive, donation checks and boxes were delivered to the food pantries to help those in need.
