SYRACUSE — The annual Syracuse Holiday Magic event took place Saturday, Nov. 19. Families gathered at Lakeland Youth Center, 101 W. Chicago St., between 1 to 4 p.m. to make their own gingerbread houses. Kids also enjoyed playing on a mini trampoline and small rock-climbing wall at the center after completing their gingerbread houses.
The magic then moved to Veterans Memorial Park at Crosson Mill where sleigh rides were available for individuals and families. Gingerbread, a live reindeer, joined the festivities and people were treated to free cookies and hot cocoa. Syracuse Elementary Fifth Grade Choir and Wawasee Middle School Choir provided entertainment.
Santa arrived at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the town Christmas tree at 6:45 p.m. Children were also invited to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas lists.
