Early Morning Critical Crash in Syracuse
SYRACUSE — Kosciusko County Deputies are currently working a critical accident that occurred early this morning in the Syracuse area.
KCSD Deputies, along with Syracuse\Turkey Creek Fire Territory at EMS and firemen, responded early this morning at 4:47 a.m., to the area of East CR 1000N, and Koher Road, Syracuse regarding a single vehicular crash.
Police and emergency personnel located driver, Christopher Doty, 24, North Webster, entrapped inside his 1997 Buick. Doty was initially conscious at the scene, but after extrication became unconscious and was immediately transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, in critical condition.
KCSD deputies have preliminarily determined that Doty was eastbound on CR 1000N, when he failed to navigate the curves near the intersection of Koher Road. Doty’s vehicle left the roadway, and struck several trees during the impact.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
