Rose Marie Fearnow — UPDATED
Rose Marie Fearnow, 72, Columbia City, passed away at 8:46 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born Oct. 3, 1944 in Huntington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kastner) Masbaum.
She graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1962 and graduated from Ravens-Croft Beauty College in 1963. On Oct. 3, 1963 she married Raymond Fearnow, Jr. at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They lived in Huntington until 1975 when they moved to the Columbia City area and built a home on Tri-Lakes. A stay at home mom, Rose was a devote member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church where she was active with Christ Renews His Parish and enjoyed helping with the funeral dinners.
Survivors include her children: Tim (Tam) Fearnow, Kristine (Jay) Straub, Melinda (Aaron) Woll, Erik (Melissa) Fearnow, all of Columbia City; and Scott (Ruth) Fearnow, of Fort Wayne; sister, Rita (Carl) Chalk, Columbia City; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and former husband, Raymond Fearnow, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is 2-3:45 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, with a Rosary starting at 4 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S Line St, Columbia City. Father Barry England will officiate. Burial to follow at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in Rose’s memory to St Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.
