INDIANAPOLIS — Direct appeals by Brandon Thomas Woody and Kyle David DeHart have been filed with the Indiana Court of Appeals. Both cases were e-filed by their respective attorneys Nov. 16.

Briefs detailing the cause for appeal are not yet available.

Both Joe Sobek, counsel for DeHart and Larry Hansen, counsel for Woody, filed their respective notice of appeal with the courts Nov. 11 and 16 respectively.

The notices state the basis for appellate jurisdiction is an appeal from a final judgement. Copies of the judgement and sentencing order were filed with the appeal notice.

DeHart and Woody were found guilty in the 2015 murders of Joshua Randall Knisley and Tara Lynn Thornburg. DeHart was sentenced to 110 years on the two murder charges and one year for obstruction of justice. Woody was charged to 120 years on the murder charges.
